                                                            2.  BROOKS BROTHERS New Delhi: Reliance Brands, a unit of Reliance Industries, on Monday announced a joint venture with America’s clothing retailer Brooks Brothers to set up the latter’s shops in India. Through the new joint venture, in which Reliance Brands holds 49% stake, Brooks Brothers’ products will be available in major cities across India through exclusive mono-brand stores which will carry the entire range of menswear and women’s wear including clothing, sportswear, and accessories. “We will be looking at opening five stores over the next three seasons, starting with Fall-Winter 2012 running through Fall-Winter 2013,” Reliance Brands said in response to a PTI query. The company is targeting Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Chandigarh. “However, at the same time we have a parallel focus on Hyderabad and Kolkata which are important cities for us as well,” it said. 1.  DEISEL BRAND One-and-a-half years after signing a joint venture (JV) with Italy's Diesel, Reliance Brands, part of Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Retail, is set to open the first Diesel store in the country, in March. Diesel is a top name in apparel and related personal consumer products. Headquartered in Molvena, northern Italy, it has presence in 80 countries, with 5,000 points of sale and more than 300 single-brand stores. Reliance Brands  is set to open five Diesel stores between March and June, with Mumbai having the first flagship store of 8,000 sq ft, said a top executive. The other stores are set to open in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore. In all, Diesel Fashion India Reliance, a 51:49 JV between Diesel and Reliance Brands, plans to open 15 stores in the next three years, said Darshan Mehta, chief executive of Reliance Brands.
